An interesting story is developing in Scotland, where the US tycoon, Donald Trump is seeking to stop the construction of a wind farm just nest to his multibillion golf estate. Trump says that the 11-wind farm would destroy the aestheticism of the golf estate and terming them as industrial turbines.
A planning application for an 11-turbine wind farm off Aberdeen Bay was submitted to Marine Scotland last summer and a decision is expected to be made later this year. Mr Trump has halted work on his resort until the decision is made by the Scottish Government.
In his letter addressed to Mr Salmond, he wrote: "Inward investors everywhere are reading the headlines and concluding that Scotland is no longer a secure place to invest because of the fact you are single-handedly destroying the economic well-being of a great country.
The entrepreneur said they were inefficient, could not operate without big subsides, "killed massive amounts of wildlife" and would damage tourism.
The European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre, which Mr Trump is objecting to, is a £150m joint venture by utility company Vattenfall, engineering firm Technip and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group.
Scottish ministers have yet to make a decision on whether to approve the project.Mr Trump, whose organisation said it would be prepared to spend up to £10m fighting such developments, argued it would spoil the sea views for his customers at the Menie resort. (BBC News)
In my opinion, I would like the turbines to be set up and I will offfer ny self to be the presiding engineer for the project. Donal trump has issues with wind, and after all, I would enjpy a good golf season with turbines watching me.
What do you think?
